London 2012 – our two weeks of events at home, making for a very efficient household!

So is everyone enjoying the Olympics so far?  Our celebrations began at our Olympic sports day, followed by the Olympic torch passing our house. To me the opening ceremony was pure genius and set us up for a very exciting couple of weeks

We are now well and truly into the Olympic spirit at home. We have some gold, silver and bronze medal stickers and a leader board for the whole family, including Flip (as some of you already know he is our little boy Freddie’s mouse friend). Currently Freddie (3 years old) is in the lead with 2 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze, closely followed by Daddy with 1 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze. Unfortunately the rest of us are not doing very well, Flip and I have a gold each and the older kids are lagging behind with no medals yet... but, as with our Team GB, I have faith that Flip will reign supreme (well after Freddie that is) and storm past Daddy...

We are having great fun setting up races and even just racing to the bath or bed at bedtime, it really is getting Freddie interested in actual Olympics, especially the races where he can see the finish line like swimming and rowing,  so athletics is going to go down well... so keep going Team GB and watch this space for updates on our own Olympic games in the house and our final awards ceremony on 12th August.

Won't win any prizes for design, but you get the picture!
