Very occasionally we have a snuggle up and stay in day, which usually gives us a little more time than usual to become creative. I keep any boxes for such a day and last year we made a house out of Freddie’s Little Tikes Car box. This became the most played with toy for months by Freddie and our dog Millie!
This year it just so happens he had another Little Tikes pressie for Christmas that came in a large box - so we decided to transform it into a puppet theatre.
First we flattened the box then we cut a hole for the stage and made a small ledge so that his toys can balance.
We popped to our local haberdashery and Freddie chose his material from the oddments box... definitely glittery enough for the stage!!!
Curtains up and the show begins...
The Story of the Three Little Pigs – this fantastic set really brings this classic story to life and Freddie loves acting out the story as I tell it.
These puppets are made by the Puppet Company and there are lots of great puppets to choose from including traditional stories and nursery rhymes.
They also make good quality puppet theatres too – slightly better than ours!!! We bought our puppets from Amazon here... but are always open other retailer suggestions...
The theatre is continually going through refurbishment and is now blue...
